    Prototype

    When you want to develop an new product, after finished the design, an prototype will be the best choice to verify the feasibility. You can choose the 3D printing, which can finish in 1-2 days, but have not very good phsical property. Or CNC machined from solid, which need 1-2 weeks, but good phsical property.

    After the design fixed, you can start the tooling, which normally need 4-8 weeks. If you need some quantity below 2000 pcs, you can choose the prototype tooling to save the cost, which just have 5000 shots life; if you expect the big quantity, then a series production with longer life( 50K-100K for die casting, 200K-500K for plastic) will be the better choice.
